The Good and Services Tax (GST) applies to all manufacturers, service providers, and traders.
The procedure is totally online.
Turnover
GST registration becomes mandatory when the aggregate value of supply exceeds Rs. 20 Lakhs. The Ministry of Finance (MoF) simplifies the GST registration procedure to ease the tax filing process.

Online GST Registration Fee
In the case of the online registration process, no fee is levied. The applicant has to upload the documents, and he will get ARN- Application Reference Number through e-mail or SMS.
Penalty
If you don't pay tax or pay less amount than what is due, the penalty of 10% of the tax amount.
The minimum penalty is Rs. 10,000.
The penalty will be 100% of the tax amount if tax evasion is deliberate.
Timeline
GST registration usually takes 2-6 working days.
Multiple Registration
If a business is in more than one state, the taxpayer should obtain separate GST registration for each state.
